This fall kicks off a new collaboration between Slow Food Philly and the UNI (Urban Nutrition Initiative), an organization that works to improve community nutrition and health in Philadelphia by developing and implementing a comprehensive set of activities in specified neighborhoods. Slow Food will be purchasing and planting early maturing seeds in 3 Philadelphia middle schools in September. Students will learn about the history of seeds such as the Green Oak Leaf lettuce, care for the garden, harvest the plant and eventually enjoy the greens at the table.

We need several volunteers to help with planting at each of the 3 middle schools. If you would like to volunteer, please send us an e-mail with the heading volunteer to info@slowfoodphilly.org.
