Your donations and support are helping us to fund various projects in our region. We are stewards of this movement called Slow Food and our support role to those in our region is an important part of our work. We added this record on our site as an accounting and description of how and where we contribute your dollars.
We hope that you will follow along with us so see the progress we are making to accomplish our goals and also learn a little about the organizations we support.
- In collaboration with Les Dames d’Escoffier Philadelphia we are contributing a total of $2000 dollars toward a farming internship scholarship that has been awarded to Robin Kerber. Robin is a Culinary Arts Management student at Drexel University and was chosen from applications submitted to Pennypack Farm & Education Center. Slow Food encourages young people to take in interest in where their food comes from and how it is being grown. All of our events in the next couple of months will help fund this scholarship. Pennypack Farm will host a gardening seminar in March for us at the Restaurant School and we will also be all manning side by side tables at the Farm and Food Fest at the Convention Center in April. www.pennypackfarm.org
- Reading Terminal Market has their annual Valentines Gala and Fundraiser to support the Terminal Preservation Trust. We donated $300 towards their fund. This historic market is a great food resource and home to Fair Food Farmstand.
